Celebrating 50 years preparing youths to be the leaders of tomorrow and today!

We are now accepting nominations for the 2010 Youth Human Relations Award!

ANYTOWN is a weeklong residential camp designed to educate, liberate and empower youths to advance social justice in their schools and communities.

At ANYTOWN a diverse group of youths, ages 14 – 18 come together to spend one week working to understand one another, find common ground, form an interdependent community and make friends for a lifetime.

 

May 28– June 1, 2010

Interdistrict ANYTOWN

Location: Camp Jewell

              Colebrook, CT

Registration is now open for the May Interdistrict ANYTOWN.  Please submit your registration form prior to April 2, 2010 to reserve your spot at Camp ANYTOWN.

 

August 1 – 6, 2010

August ANYTOWN

Location: Saint Joseph College

              West Hartford, CT

Camp ANYTOWN is open to all high school students throughout Connecticut and Western Massachusetts.  Please check back for open registration.

Through activities, workshops, games and dialog sessions, student’s will strengthen their understanding of the dynamics of prejudice and oppression, build their self esteem and leadership skills and learn how to make positive change in their schools and community.

ANYTOWN Delegates:

  • Gain a working understanding of basic oppression and liberation theories
  • Make true friends for a lifetime
  • Have the opportunity to express themselves and share their individual experiences
  • Be listened to and more importantly, be heard
  • Learn to support and care for one another
  • Sing songs, act silly, and remember how to play games and have fun
  • Work toward becoming leaders in their diverse communities

ANYTOWN/YAC Reunion 2010!

ANYTOWN/YAC alumni returned to Camp Jewell on January 16, 2010 to celebrate all the accomplishments of ANYTOWN alumni.  We Spent the day snow-tubing, ice-skating, playing games and updating each other.  A great day for all to rekindle their ANYTOWN Spirit!
